Your details

How we use your details

What the house receives when you write to it through this website, what it does with it and how you can have it corrected or removed.

The notice

“What happens to what you tell us”

Details you enter in the form

The booking form asks for your name, your email address, the evening and time you would like, the number in your party and any notes you wish to add. A telephone number is optional. I read every request myself. The form never asks for payment details or a copy of any document, because nothing on this website is paid for or checked.

Your rights

You may ask me what the house holds about you, ask for it to be corrected and ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address in the footer or telephone the lounge. I shall reply within a few working days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Purposes

Your details are used to reply to your request, to confirm or change a booking and to tell you if something alters on the evening. They are not used for advertising, are not sold or lent and are not joined with details from any other source. I do not profile guests, and nothing is decided about you by a machine.

Why we may use them

The operator of the venue, named on the About page and in the footer, uses your details because you have asked it to: a booking request is an invitation to reply. If the house ever wished to do more, such as send a note about a new menu, it would ask you first and accept your refusal.

How long they are kept

Booking details are kept for about a year after the evening concerned, so that I can answer any later question, then deleted from the book and the inbox. Correspondence about other matters is kept only as long as it is useful.

Who receives them

Booking details are read by the manager and the host. They are held on the operator's systems and in the booking book at the lounge. A provider that hosts the website or the email may process them solely to keep those services running, and a regulator may see them if the law requires.

Cookies and similar files

The website keeps two small notes in your browser and shows an embedded map on the contact page. The page called Small files on your device describes each one and explains how to remove it, and how the consent choice is remembered.

Short answers

“Common questions about your details”

Do you share my email address with anyone?

No. It is read only by the staff who handle bookings. A provider who hosts the email may process it to keep the service running, but it does not read or use it for any other purpose.

Can I ask you to delete my booking?

Yes, at any time. Write to the address in the footer or telephone, giving the name and the evening, and the booking is removed from the book and from the inbox within a few working days.

Do you keep a record of who plays?

No. Nothing about play is recorded, because nothing is staked and nothing is won. The only record is the booking book, which shows who asked for a table and for which evening.

Is my information sent overseas?

Booking details are handled by the venue's operator, who is named on this page and in the footer of every page. They are protected by the same practices, and you can ask me for more information about where they are held.
