Reservations

Book your evening

A dinner table and a place at the tables are two separate requests. Ask for either or both, and I shall reply myself.

Before you write

“Dinner and the tables are different requests”

A dinner reservation secures a table in the counter hall at a stated time. A place at the tables secures a seat in the board room for the evening, at roulette, blackjack or poker. Most guests ask for both, but many ask for only one, and the form below lets you choose.

I read each request myself and reply by email or telephone, usually on the same day. The reply says plainly what has been arranged. If the evening you have asked for is full, I shall suggest the nearest one that is not, and I shall tell you honestly how busy it is likely to be.

Everyone in your party must be 18 or over, and the form asks you to confirm that. Nothing is paid when you book, and the form does not take a card number or any other financial detail. It simply reaches the house, where I read it.

If your plans are uncertain, you may send a request now and change it later by telephone. I would rather hear from you twice than not at all, and no one is ever charged for changing their mind. The only thing I ask is that you tell me as early as you can, so that the table can go to another party.

Your request

“Request a table”

Please complete the details below. Only the marked fields are required, and anything else you tell me helps me prepare.

Please note

“How reservations are kept”

  1. A table is held for fifteen minutes beyond the time agreed, and for longer if the house has been told of a delay.
  2. There is no charge for making, changing or cancelling a reservation, and no deposit is ever taken.
  3. Parties of up to ten can be seated together; larger parties are arranged by telephone.
  4. A place at the tables is offered as seats fall free, and a short waiting list is kept at the double doors.
  5. Allergies and dietary needs should be given in the notes box, so that the kitchen can plan the meal.
  6. Guests under 18 cannot be admitted, and the confirmation tick-box is a promise that everyone is of age.
